Poker League Rules

Welcome to the league. This is where bragging rights are earned, bounty chips get stolen, and bad beats are remembered forever.

Game Schedule

  • The poker game will be held on the 2nd Friday of each month

  • The date can only be changed if it is voted on and approved by league members

The Buy In

  • $100 buy in to start the year

  • $40 buy in each week

  • $20 kicker for half chips at break

  • Last buy in happens on the first blind increase after break

House Rules

  • No string bets

  • Any opening raise must be at least 2x the big blind

  • If you misdeal, you take a shot

  • If you win a hand with 7-2 and table it, every other player owes you $100

The Bounty

Each week, the winner of the previous game gets to draw first for seating. Whoever pulls the Ace of Spades becomes the bounty player.

  • If the bounty player wins the whole game, they earn 2,000 final table chips

  • If someone takes out the bounty player, that knockout earns 1,000 final table chips

So if you have the bounty, protect it. If you don’t, go hunting.

Weekly Payouts

Every week, the top finishers get paid

  • 1st place gets $100

  • 2nd place gets $60

  • 3rd place gets $40

Final Table Chip Awards

Every finish matters because it builds your final table stack

  • 1st place gets 5,000 chips

  • 2nd place gets 3,000 chips

  • 3rd place gets 1,000 chips

The Final Table

This is what the whole season builds toward.

  • If you make the final table, you get paid

  • If you miss the final table, you do not get paid unless the league votes otherwise

  • Final table payouts will be discussed and voted on by league members based on the total pot

  • If you miss the final table without a valid reason, you may be replaced next season

Bottom line, get there! Enjoy a weekend with the boys and have a great time!

League Pot and Expenses

The final pot is king, but league-approved expenses come out of it when needed.

This can include

  • Chips

  • Cards

  • Table supplies

  • Hosting costs

  • Cleaning costs for the final table

Hosting Duties

Everybody has skin in the game.

  • Each member hosts one month during the season leading up to the final table
